Okhla Election Result 2025 Live: Amanatullah Khan takes massive lead of over 33,000 votes against BJP's Manish Chaudhary

AAP candidate Amanatullah Khan has taken what appears to be an unassailable lead against his nearest rival, Manish Chaudhary of the BJP. After 13 rounds of counting, Amanatullah is leading by over 33,000 votes against his candidates of the BJP, AIMIM and the Congress, respectively.

AAP candidate Amanatullah Khan has taken a massive lead of over 22,000 votes against his rivals of the AIMIM, Congress and the BJP after nine rounds of counting, EC data shows.

AAP candidate Amanatullah Khan has extended his lead against the rival candidates and is now ahead by over 10,700 votes after six rounds of counting.

AAP candidate Amanatullah Khan has extended the lead against his nearest rival, Shifa Ur Rehman of the AIMIM, by 9518 votes after five rounds of counting, according to the Election Commission of India.

Amanatullah Khan of the Aam Aadmi Party has regained a lead against BJP candidate Manish Chaudhary after three rounds of counting. As per the Election Commission data, Amanatullah Khan is leading by 4475 votes.

Amanatullah Khan of AAP is trailing against BJP's Manish Chaudhary by 2260 votes, according to the latest available EC trends. The trend is after the first round of counting.

Amanatullah Khan of AAP is now trailing against BJP's Manish Chaudhary in the Okhla Assembly seat. As per the Election Commission of India trends, the BJP candidate is now leading against the AAP rival by a margin of around 5,000 votes.

The Election Commission of India is yet to put out trends for the Okhla Assembly constituency. The counting of early votes, however, showed AAP's Amanatullah Khan leading from the seat, reported News18.

Early trends show the BJP inching closer to the majority mark in the Delhi election results. From Okhla, it AAP's Amanatullah Khan which is leading against the BJP, Congress and AIMIM candidates in the seat.

The Aam Aadmi Party candidates from Okhla and Ballimaran, two of the biggest Muslim-dominated seats in the capital.

The first trends for the Okhla Assembly seat are in and AAP candidate Amanatullah Khan has taken a lead against his rival candidates. Note that these are trends emerging from the counting of postal ballots and the trends could reverse once EVMs are opened. For now, the sitting MLA is leading from the Okhla Assembly seat.

A majority of the exit polls have predicted a BJP win in the Delhi Assembly elections. The AAP is expected to trail as the first runner-up while the Congress is also projected to win a handful of seats. However, none of the exit polls have given a seat to AIMIM, making this contest truly one to watch out for.

Former president of the Alumni Association of Jamia Millia Islamia (AAJMI), Shifa Ur Rehman, was arrested by the Delhi police in April 2020. He remains an undertrial prisoner in the case and was fielded by the AIMIM from the seat which became the epicentre of the CAA-NRC protests. Campaigning for Rehman, AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi held a rally from Zakir Nagar to Batla House. The message for the locals was that the Jamia alumnus languishing in jail as an undertrial accused in the Delhi riots needed a fair trial. Shifa has gained popularity in the last leg of the elections which was apparent by the huge turnout visible during his campaign after he received parole. Another factor behind his popularity is the JMI's alumni base backing him just on sentimental values.

Axis My India's Pradeep Gupta told a news channel that AIMIM candidate Shifa Ur Rehman could emerge as the winner against AAP's Amanatullah Khan. Khan is the sitting MLA from the seat which is seen as his stronghold and is trying his luck for the third consecutive term. AIMIM's decision to field a candidate in the seat is believed to have flipped the sentiment against the AAP candidate as well as Congress' Ariba Asif Khan.

From a direct contest between the AAP and Congress, the Okhla Assembly constituency suddenly turned multi-cornered following the AIMIM's decision to field 2020 Delhi riots accused Shifa Ur Rehman from the constituency. The AIMIM's entry immediately opened the doors for a vote division, and also enhanced the prospects of BJP's Manish Chaudhary.

Among the youngest to contest the Delhi Assembly elections, Ariba Khan shot to prominence after registering a win in the MCD elections in 2020 from the Abul Fazal Enclave ward in the Okhla constituency. The daughter of former MLA Asif Khan, the Congress decided to take a bet on Ariba looking at her huge victory margin and fielded her from the Okhla Assembly seat, setting the stage for a sharp AAP-Congress battle.

Despite enjoying immense clout in the Okhla Assembly constituency, Amanatullah Khan faced a major setback in Okhla when AAP lost four of the five wards in the MCD elections held in 2020. Notably, the Muslim-majority wards in the Okhla constituency — Abul Fazal Enclave, which includes Shaheen Bagh, and Zakir Nagar — all elected Congress leaders as their municipal corporators. One of those young winners is now the Congress candidate against Khan.

The Okhla seat has been a pocket borough of Amanatullah Khan, the AAP candidate, who has won the constituency twice in 2015 and again in 2020. However, with two other Muslim candidates also in the fray from the seat, the challenge for him gets much bigger. Will Amanatullah Khan manage to pull through despite the odds or will BJP benefit from the division of votes? We will know shortly.

The counting of votes for the Okhla Assembly constituency will begin at 8 AM on Saturday, February 8. The key candidates from the constituency include AAP's Amanatullah Khan, Congress's Ariba Khan, BJP's Manish Chaudhary and AIMIM's Shifa Ur Rehman.
