Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday emphasized that military action cannot resolve global disputes, stressing dialogue, diplomacy, and respect for the rule of law, particularly in the context of the escalating crisis in West Asia.
Speaking at a joint press briefing in New Delhi with Alexander Stubb, Modi noted that the world is facing widespread instability, with conflicts continuing from Ukraine to West Asia. He reiterated India's commitment to peaceful and lawful methods for resolving disputes.
Modi described the growing India-Europe relationship as entering a "golden era," saying that strengthened cooperation can enhance global stability, development, and shared prosperity. He highlighted the India-EU Free Trade Agreement, signed in early 2026, as a key step to boost trade, investment, and technology collaboration with Finland.
He also pointed to partnerships in areas such as digital technology, infrastructure, and sustainability, describing these as vital for strategic and economic collaboration.
President Stubb praised India's diplomatic influence, noting that Finland values the partnership. "We share common values and appreciate India's diplomacy," he said, calling India one of the world's most influential nations.
