After killing his relative, the accused returned to Kuwait and soon after he released a video message confessing to having committed the crime

A 35-year-old immigrant worker flew down from Kuwait to Andhra Pradesh and allegedly murdered a relative for sexually abusing his 12-year-old daughter, reports have said.

The accused who went back to Kuwait after the murder posted a video on social media confessing to the crime, saying police inaction forced him to take matters into his hands, reports said.

A local sub-divisional police officer said the accused reached his hometown in the Annamayya district early this month and beat the relative to death early on December 7, news agency PTI reported.

After the alleged murder, the man returned to Kuwait and released a video message, saying he killed the man as the police refused to lodge a complaint.

Moneycontrol couldn’t independently verify the report or the video.

In the purported video, the man says he and his wife work in Kuwait and their daughter was living with her aunt and husband.

The woman’s father-in-law allegedly abused his daughter who complained to the aunt but was told not to speak about the incident to anyone.

When her mother came to India, the girl told her of the ordeal. The mother went to the local police station but instead of taking down the complaint, police threatened to file a case against her, a Times of India report cited the father as saying.

Police inaction forced him to take matters into his own hands, the man said in the video. A case of murder has been registered against him, reports said.
