Regarding the Rudraprayag Tempo Traveller accident, Dr. Meenu Singh, Director of AIIMS Rishikesh, stated during an interaction with the media today, "Seven patients were admitted to AIIMS. Unfortunately, two of them were brought dead. Two patients are in critical condition, while three patients are stable", reported ANI.

National capital Delhi today experienced a severe heatwave with temperatures reaching unprecedented levels. The maximum temperature recorded was 49.9°C, marking one of the highest temperatures ever observed in the city. The heatwave affected most areas of Delhi, causing extreme discomfort and health concerns among residents​, as reported by ANI.

An ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased. The injured would be given Rs 50,000 each, the Prime Minister's Office informed. So far, 12 people have died in the accident and 14 injured.

Superintendent of Police Rudraprayag Dr Vishakha Ashok Bhadane said that rescue work is going on continuously in the Tempo Traveller accident. So far, 4 injured have been airlifted and sent to the higher centre in Rishikesh.

The death toll in the accident in which a tempo traveller fell into a deep gorge near Rudraprayag has now risen to 10. Four seriously injured have been referred to a higher centre while 9 other injured are in the hospital where they are undergoing treatment, the IG Garhwal informed.

Tamil Nadu's ruling DMK on Saturday accused the National Testing Agency of spoiling the sanctity of NEET and blamed the BJP-led government at the Centre for being a 'spectator' and backing coaching centres that earned in crores. In view of the water shortage in the national capital, the Delhi government has appealed to Haryana to discharge additional water into the Yamuna on humanitarian grounds, senior AAP leader and minister Atishi said on Saturday.

In a major relief for inflation-hit masses in cash-strapped Pakistan, the government has slashed the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs 10.20 and Rs 2.33 per litre respectively ahead of the Eid ul Adha festival.

The price cut, effective from Saturday, will bring the price of petrol to Rs 258.16 per litre while the price of HSD will be Rs 267.89 per litre, The Express Tribune newspaper quoted a statement from the Prime Minister's Office on Friday.

The AAP MLAs have written a letter to Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Paatil urging his intervention to solve the water crisis faced by the national capital amid the prevailing intense heatwave.

Calling the situation "very critical", AAP's chief whip in Delhi Assembly Dilip Pandey on Saturday said the Yamuna water issue was an inter-state issue that required coordination of the Jal Shakti Ministry.

Delhi Water Minister Atishi said, "... Water shortage in Delhi persists. Water supply to Delhi is falling short... Water in Wazirabad pond is almost finished. Munak canal, which is fed by two other canals, is also short of water... "

"Water production in Delhi has fallen by 70 MGD... All 7 water treatment plants fed by the Munak Canal, are producing less water... Emergency tube-wells have been made in many areas of Delhi and linked with the water supply. Especially in Bawana, Dwarka, and Nangloi...." she added.

She further said, " Delhi Jal Board (DJB) tankers are making 10000 trips in a day. DJB is supplying nearly 10 MGD of water via tankers... We have asked the DJB to provide extra tankers wherever necessary and conduct an assessment wherever tankers are unable to reach... Fixed points of water tankers are also being increased. New areas of water crisis are coming up."

Amidst the water crisis in Delhi, Chief Whip of Delhi Assembly, Dilip Pandey writes to Union Minister for Jal Shakti C.R. Paatil, seeking intervention and coordination with North Indian states to provide more water to Delhi.

He also requests a meeting on behalf of Delhi MLAs.

Two people died and six others were injured in a collision between a bus and a truck in Sewar police station area of Rajasthan's Bharatpur district on Saturday morning, police said.

The injured have been admitted to RBM Hospital in Bharatpur for treatment, they said.

Eight Naxalites and one security personnel were killed in an encounter in Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh on Saturday, police said.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the State Bank of India (SBI). This MoU aims to enhance digital payment services for Indian migrant workers, Recruiting Agents (RAs), and other users of the eMigrate portal.

Under the agreement, SBI will provide an additional digital payment service through its payment gateway known as SBIePay. This initiative is intended to streamline and facilitate financial transactions for users of the eMigrate portal, thereby improving efficiency and convenience in their processes.

Meanwhile, Delhi Water Minister Atishi mentioned on Friday that water production in the city is continuously decreasing as less water is reaching the Yamuna river. The AAP government has accused BJP-ruled Haryana of not releasing Delhi's share of water.
