A wave of alarm swept through Ambala on Monday after three schools received bomb threat emails, leading to swift police action and extensive security checks. Officials later confirmed that the searches did not yield any suspicious material.

Police said the emails were received by three educational institutions -- two located in Ambala Cantt and one in Ambala City. As a precautionary measure, security agencies immediately carried out thorough inspections of the premises.

“A thorough search was conducted, but nothing suspicious was found,” Ambala Cantt SHO Jatinder Dhillon said, adding, “We are investigating the matter.”

School authorities acted quickly after receiving the anonymous messages. Seema Dutt, Principal of Riverside DAV Public School in Ambala Cantt, said the situation was handled calmly with the support of law enforcement.

“We informed the police after receiving an anonymous email. Police personnel arrived here; we are on alert. A total of three schools received this email,” she said.

The incident comes close on the heels of similar hoax threats reported in the region. On Friday, bomb threat emails were sent to the Ambala Deputy Commissioner’s office as well as the Mini Secretariat in Kurukshetra district.

Those alerts also prompted extensive searches, after which officials confirmed that no dangerous objects were found and the threats were false.

Authorities remain cautious as investigations continue to trace the origin of the emails. While normal activities resumed after the checks, police said heightened vigilance would be maintained.

The Ambala episode mirrors earlier incidents elsewhere in the country. On December 10, several schools in Delhi received bomb threats through email, prompting institutions to ask parents to pick up their children as a precaution.

Delhi Police later said no suspicious items were detected after teams, including bomb disposal squads and sniffer dogs, inspected the premises.

Officials said that while the threats in Ambala turned out to be hoaxes, every such alert is treated seriously to ensure public safety.
