New visuals emerged of the suspect in the Rameshwaram Cafe blast case, which occurred in Bengaluru on March 1.
According to news reports, CCTV camera footage revealed that the suspect arrived at a bus stop near the cafe at around 10:45 am via a public bus. He entered the cafe at 11:34 am and exited at 11:43 am before heading towards another bus stop located over a kilometer away.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has announced a cash reward of Rs 10 lakh for any information regarding the suspect. The blast, suspected to be caused by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), injured at least 10 people at the cafe located in Brookfield, East Bengaluru. Following the incident, the Karnataka Police registered a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Explosives Substances Act before handing over the investigation to the NIA earlier this week.
The suspect reportedly utilised multiple public buses for both transporting the explosive device and escaping the scene. Additionally, it is suspected that the suspect made stops at various locations during his getaway, including a Muslim religious center, where a baseball cap worn by the suspect was discovered.
Furthermore, Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara mentioned that the police are investigating various angles related to the blast, including business rivalry, impending elections, and potential intimidation of investors in Bengaluru. The police have obtained approximately 40 to 50 CCTV footage, and efforts are underway to identify the suspect, who was described as wearing a cap, mask, and glasses during the incident.
