
United States Ambassador to India Sergio Gor met Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani and Reliance Foundation founder-chairperson Nita Ambani on the sidelines of the India vs USA clash at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Mumbai. He said that it was “great to see my friends” at the venue.
Sharing pictures and updates on X, Gor wrote, “Great to see my friends Mukesh and Nita Ambani on the sidelines of the #T20WorldCup match between @USACricket and India.” The meeting drew attention as several high-profile names gathered at the stadium for the marquee fixture.

Earlier during the match, Gor also met International Cricket Council chairman Jay Shah and spoke about the rapid rise of cricket in the United States.
“A pleasure meeting with @ICC Chairman @JayShah at the #T20WorldCup today. We discussed the exponential growth of cricket in the United States with our world-class infrastructure, star talent, and incredible fans,” he posted.
The US envoy was seen alongside Shah during the national anthems and also witnessed the opening ceremony, which featured fireworks ahead of the contest.
Former India captain Rohit Sharma, a brand ambassador for this edition of the T20 World Cup, was present at the stadium as well.
Gor had earlier posted upon landing in Mumbai, writing, “Just landed in Mumbai for the #T20WorldCup game! Big day for team @usacricket. Go Team USA.” His presence at the high-profile fixture highlighted Washington’s growing engagement with international cricket as the sport continues to gain traction in the United States ahead of future global tournaments.
