An Air India Express flight from Delhi to Ranchi, scheduled to land at Birsa Munda Airport at 6:20 PM on Monday, was diverted back to Delhi.
As per the information, Air India's AI 9695 flight — a Boeing 737-Max 8 aircraft — departed New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport at 4:25 pm and was scheduled to land at Ranchi’s Birsa Munda Airport at 6:20 pm. However, it was diverted back to Delhi due to technical reasons.
Confirming this, an Air India Express spokesperson said: "One of our flights returned to Delhi after takeoff due to a suspected technical issue."
"Post inspections and clearance, the aircraft continued scheduled operations," the spokesperson added.
Earlier in the day, an Air India flight from Hong Kong to Delhi returned back to its origin after the pilot suspected a technical issue mid-air. The flight AI315, operated by a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner had to undergo necessary checks.
