Delhi records 2,199 COVID-19 cases; 62 more die
The national capital recorded 2,199 fresh coronavirus cases, and 62 deaths due to the disease in the last 24 hours, authorities said on Tuesday. The total number of COVID-19 patients in Delhi now stands at 87,360.
The death toll due to the disease is 2,742, according to the latest Delhi health department bulletin.The Delhi government had earlier predicted that "there will be 1 lakh cases in the national capital by June 30 and 15,000 beds will be needed". (PTI)

Chhattisgarh COVID-19 tally rises to 2,858 with 97 new cases
The number of COVID-19 cases inChhattisgarh rose to 2,858 on Tuesday with 97 more peopletesting positive for the viral infection in the last 24 hours, a health official said.
Also, 100 patients were discharged from hospitals following their recovery from the disease, he said.While 63 new coronavirus cases were detected on Tuesday, 34 people had tested positive on Monday night, theofficial said. (PTI)

COVID-19 toll in J-K crosses 100-mark, 260 fresh cases recorded
The toll due to COVID-19 in Jammu and Kashmir crossed the 100-mark on Tuesday as six more patients succumbed to the disease, while the union territory's tally rose to 7,497 after 260 fresh cases were detected, officials said.Five of these deaths were reported from Kashmir and one from Jammu, they said. "Six persons, who were COVID-19 positive, have died over the past 24 hours in Jammu and Kashmir," the officials said. (PTI)

Complete lockdown on 5 Sundays in Karnataka, marriages fixed will be allowed
There will be a completelockdown on five Sundays in Karnataka, starting from July 5 toAugust 2, the state government's Unlock-2 guidelines said on
Tuesday.However, essential activities and marriages already fixedon these days shall be permitted, a Government Order said. The number of guests should not exceed 50 inmarriage-related gatherings.

Wedding ceremony sets off biggest COVID-19 infection chain in Bihar
A wedding ceremony in rural Patnaa fortnight ago where the groom was running high fever, two days before he died and his body cremated without being tested for COVID 19, appears to have set off the biggest infection chain in Bihar so far, health department officials said on Tuesday.
More than 100 people have tested positive in Paliganj sub-division of Patna district, about 55 km from the state capital, in the last few days, out of over 350 who have beentested upon contact tracing, they said. Fifteen of hisrelatives who attended the wedding tested positive for thecontagion and apparently infected others. (PTI)

The COVID-19 death toll in Rajasthan rose to 413 on Tuesday with eight more fatalities, while 354 fresh cases took the number of infections to 18,014, according to an official report here.
Four deaths were reported in Jodhpur, three in Jaipur, besides one patient from outside the state. Bharatpur reported a maximum of 58 cases, while Jodhpur reported 55 cases. Sikar, Jaipur, Alwar reported 44, 27 and 22 cases, respectively, the report stated. (PTI)
