Telangana Election Results 2024 Live: Neck to neck fight between BJP and INC in Telangana

TRS candidate Pothuganti Ramulu won the 2019 General Election with a victory margin of 1,89,748 votes, securing 4,99,672 votes. Pothuganti Ramulu defeated Dr Mallu Ravi of the INC, who got 3,09,924 votes.

TRS candidate Nama Nageswar Rao won the 2019 General Election with a victory margin of 1,68,062 votes, securing 5,67,459 votes. Nama Nageswar Rao defeated Renuka Chowdhury of the INC, who got 3,99,397 votes.

In Lok Sabha 2019 elections, Dr. G. Ranjith Reddy of TRS party won with 528148 votes in the Chevella Lok Sabha constituency. The runner up was Konda Vishweshwar Reddy of INC party. The margin of victory was 14317 votes. This close contest makes Chevella a crucial battleground in the 2024 elections.

Malkajgiri Lok Sabha constituency, which is going to polls in the fourth phase of the Lok Sabha elections on May 13, is a “must-win” for the Congress. The seat, until last year, was represented by none other than Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy. The BRS shadow is long and strong in the constituency even as the BJP is banking on an old regional hand looking for a political resurrection.

Traditionally a Congress stronghold, the Secunderabad seat has seen a recent shift to the Bharatiya Janata Party with incumbent G Kishan Reddy looking to keep his seat for a second term, while the saffron party looks to consolidate its hold in the southern state. These constituencies are key to the political landscape in Secunderabad, with candidates from major parties vying for supremacy.

During the 2019 Lok Sabha election, TRS secured 41.1% votes, BJP 19.65%, INC 29.79% and AIMIM secured 2.80%. This dominance set a strong precedent for the TRS going into the 2024 elections.

The stage is all set for polling in 17 Lok Sabha constituencies on Monday with 525 candidates in the fray, an average of 31 candidates for each constituency. The high number of candidates reflects the intense competition and the diverse political landscape of the state. Each constituency is witnessing a keen contest, with major parties fielding strong candidates to secure a majority of the seats.

Key candidates in the Telangana Elections 2024 include prominent leaders from major political parties, each aiming to secure a victory in their respective constituencies. Notable figures such as K. Chandrashekhar Rao from the BRS, G. Kishan Reddy from the BJP, N Uttam Kumar Reddy from the INC, Asaduddin Owaisi from the AIMIM and other influential candidates will be in the fray, making the election a very high-stake battle.

Though it appears to be a triangular battle but the real battle is between the INC and the BJP. BRS lost the assembly elections to the Congress and thus their chances to survive in this Lok Sabha election is a question mark. This election makes the competition highly unpredictable and every party is promising to be the real saviour.

Telangana contributes a total of 17 seats to the Lok Sabha, the lower house of India's Parliament. These seats play a significant role in the national political landscape. News18 predicts that NDA will win 7-10 seats, INDIA alliance 5-8 seats, BRS 2-5 seats and other parties 0-1 seat.

Out of 17 seats in Telangana, the NDA is likely to get 37% vote share while the INDIA alliance is expected to get 34% seat share and 29% by others.

News18 predicts that the NDA will win seats between 355-370 while the INDIA alliance will win 125-140 seats. Jan Ki Baat predicts that the NDA will win 362-392 seats and INDIA alliance will win 141-161 seats. Axis My India predicts that the NDA will win 146-162 seats while the INDIA alliance will win 71-86 seats.

News18 has predicted that the BJP will win 7-10 seats and the INC will win 5-8 seats. According to India Today (Axis my India), BJP might win 11-12 seats and Congress might win 4-6 seats. According to Times of India, both BJP and INC are expected to win 7-9 seats.
