Twenty-three candidates have scored in the 100th percentile in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2024 session 1, according to the results declared by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on February 13, 2024.
Telangana recorded the maximum number of students in the top echelon, with seven of them scoring in the 100th percentile, followed by Maharashtra (3), Andhra Pradesh (3), Rajasthan (3), Delhi (2), Haryana (2), Tamil Nadu (1), Gujarat (1), and Karnataka (1).
The examinations were conducted between January 24 and February 1 and were attended by 95.8 percent of the total candidates for Paper 1 (BE/ BTech) — one of the highest-ever turnouts for the JEE (Main) since the NTA started conducting the test in 2019.

Last year, 43 candidates achieved the 100 score in the exam with most of them being from the same state of Telangana. However, the result of at least 15 candidates were withheld on account of the usage of unfair means.
The result comprises the NTA scores for each of the three subjects (Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry) and the total in BE/BTech of Session 1 of Paper 1 of JEE (Main) – 2024.
The 2024 exam was held in 13 languages (Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu) and in 21 cities outside India, including Abu Dhabi, Hong Kong and Oslo where the exam was held for the first time.
The JEE Main exam is a central test for admission to India's top engineering colleges, including the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs).
