The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) will close the online application window for the RRB Junior Engineer (JE) Recruitment 2025 today, December 10. Eligible candidates have until the end of the day to submit their applications for 2,585 available positions across various engineering disciplines.

Prospective applicants can register directly through the official portal, rrbapply.gov.in, for posts including Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant.

In a recent update, the total number of vacancies has been revised upward from the initially announced 2,569 to 2,585 posts. This increase is primarily allocated to the Chennai and Jammu-Srinagar regions, addressing higher regional demand.

RRB Chennai: 169 vacancies

RRB Jammu-Srinagar: 95 vacancies

Candidates are advised to review the official notification on their respective regional RRB websites for the complete, region-wise vacancy distribution.

Steps to apply for RRB JE 2025

Aspiring candidates who have not yet applied can follow these steps before the deadline:

Step 1. Go to the official website of your regional Railway Recruitment Board or the common portal at rrbapply.gov.in.

Step 2. Locate and click the active link for 'RRB JE Recruitment 2025' or 'Registration' on the homepage.

Step 3. Complete the initial registration by providing basic details to generate login credentials.

Step 4. Log in using the provided Registration Number and Password.

Step 5. Carefully fill out the detailed application form, upload required documents (photograph, signature, etc.), and preview all entries.

Step 6. Proceed to pay the application fee online.

Step 7. Download and print the completed application form for future reference.

Application Fee Details

The examination fee is structured as follows:

  • General / OBC Candidates: Rs 500
  • Concessional Fee (SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, PwBD, Female, Transgender, Minorities, Economically Backward Class): Rs 250

Payment must be completed online via net banking, credit card, debit card, or UPI. Fee payment is a mandatory step for the successful submission of the application.

Candidates should note that a modification window will be active from December 13 to December 22, 2025. During this period, applicants can log in to correct specific details in their submitted forms. No changes will be permitted after this window closes.

After the registration process concludes, the RRB will focus on processing applications and announcing the exam dates for the Computer Based Test (CBT). Admit cards will be released on the official websites approximately 10-15 days prior to the examination.
