Right then, that’s all from us for now. Be sure to join us again on Sunday, July 20th, for Match 4 of the Tri-Series, as Zimbabwe face South Africa once more in what is a do-or-die clash for the hosts, right here at the Harare Sports Club. The action kicks off at 11:00 AM GMT, and as always, we’ll be live well before that with all the pre-match build-up and expert analysis. Until then, take care and goodbye!

Mitchell Santner, the captain of New Zealand, says that they had a different challenge today and as a bowling and fielding unit, they did extremely well. Adds that the Zimbabwe batters came out aggressively in the Powerplay and they tried to adjust and ensure that they kept on taking wickets. Reckons that it is a bit unfortunate for a few players to miss out on making the Playing XI but they also want to make sure that all 17-18 players in the squad are challenging for a spot.

Devon Conway wins the Player of the Match award for his brilliant knock. He says that it was nice to spend some time in the middle. Adds that he got a little lucky early on, but was fortunate that he got through that period. He shares that time in the middle is crucial in T20 cricket. Lauds Blessing Muzarabani, who bowled well, and shares that it was nice to bat with Rachin Ravindra and get through that tough period. Mentions that the conditions were challenging and to keep them to 120 was good on that wicket, and it settled down when they batted. Closes by adding that he is thankful that only Sikandar Raza bowled spin, and it was good for them.

Sikandar Raza, the captain of Zimbabwe, says that they didn't bat well, especially after the Powerplay when the spinners came on and it was difficult to come back from there. Mentions that they need to hone their skills better and keep improving and unfortunately, this game was a reflection of the things they have found difficult against the top sides.

The Presentation ceremony...

Earlier in the game, Zimbabwe struggled with the bat, managing just 120/7 after being put into bat. Wessly Madhevere and Brian Bennett were the only notable contributors, as the rest of the lineup failed to find momentum. New Zealand’s bowlers kept things tight throughout, with Matt Henry leading the attack and claiming three crucial wickets. Rachin Ravindra also impressed, delivering a disciplined and economical spell.

Zimbabwe simply didn't have enough runs on the board, or even anything close to it. The way Richard Ngarava and Blessing Muzarabani bowled with the new ball, 30 more runs would have definitely made this into a contest. The talented pace duo got the ball to move off the deck a bit but the extra bounce they got due to their heights was the X-factor. They couldn't keep the pressure on as the boundaries started to flow and the runs to defend started to diminish quickly.

New Zealand had a couple of players back from the MLC and were already looking like an even more well-oiled machine. That was true with the ball and even though they lost Tim Seifert quite early in the chase, Rachin Ravindra's strokeplay was eye-catching as he made a breezy 30 off just 19 balls. Devon Conway looked a bit out of sync at the other end but as the overs passed by, his confidence grew and after some early top edges, Conway seemed in full flow and, along with Daryl Mitchell, sealed the deal for his side.

The Kiwis flex their muscles yet again and have now gone two from two in this Tri-Series and are in a prime position to seal a place in the Final as well. With just 121 runs to get in 120 legal deliveries, it was never going to be a tough chase by any means but they were put under a bit of pressure early on by the Zimbabwe quicks. However, once the dust settles, New Zealand bolted their way to the finish line with 6.1 overs still remaining.

13.5FOUR! Done and dusted! Short ball over leg stump, sitting up nicely and Devon Conway is able to roll his wrists over the ball and pull it away wide enough of deep backward square leg for a boundary. Conway finishes on 59 off just 40 balls and NEW ZEALAND WIN BY 8 WICKETS!

13.4A slower short ball over middle, Daryl Mitchell is a bit early into the shot and hacks the pull to the left of deep backward square leg for only a single.

13.4Wide! And again! A bit slower and shorter but this is bowled well wide of the off stump, left alone by Mitchell.

13.4Wide! Bowled into the pitch and pushed well outside the off stump. Mitchell is unable to reach it and a wide is called.

13.3Short of a length and around leg, Conway brings the bat down onto the ball and pulls it through square leg for one more.

13.2Slower one, short and well down leg, Mitchell is early into the pull and gets it down to fine leg for a single. Mitchell is a bit frustrated as he knows he should have put it away.

13.1SIX! That is exquisite from Mutchell! Bowled on a hard length and outside off, Daryl Mitchell walks across and inside the line of the ball before scooping it up and over fine leg for a biggie.

Trevor Gwandu comes back into the attack. He went for 13 runs in his first over.

12.6Hard length on off, cutting back in, Mitchell looks to hang back and pull but gets rushed and miscues it in front of mid on for a single.

12.5Short of a length and wide outside off, cut away firmly to deep point for another single.

12.4Hard length over middle, eased away wide of mid on for a single.

12.3Oh, just a bit too high for the keeper to hang on! A sharp bumper, around the fifth stump line, Daryl Mitchell looks to fetch and pull but gets a fine top edge on it. Clive Madande leaps up and gets a bit of glove on it but the ball goes down to fine leg and the batters pick up a couple of runs.

12.2Excellent running, putting pressure on the fielders. Good-length delivery, darting in from middle, Daryl Mitchell nudges it away through the mid-wicket region and picks up a couple of runs.

12.1Back of a length and outside off, Conway backs away and cuts it down to deep backward point for one. The 100 is now up for the Kiwis.

Blessing Muzarabani (3-0-19-1) is back on to finish his spell.

11.6Quicker one, bowled fuller on middle and leg, Conway plays the on drive and gets it down to long on for a run.

11.5Short ball on off, Daryl Mitchell rocks back to swing across the line but mistimes it badly down to long on for a single and seems visibly upset with himself.

11.4Bowls a leg break now, on off and middle, Mitchell advances but opts to block it off.

11.3Short again, on middle, tucked away into the on side for a single.

11.2Oh, that is sloppy from Zimbabwe and up comes the FIFTY for Devon Conway. Dropped well short and outside off, Conway taps it through the cover region for one. The throw from the deep is a wide one at the keeper's end and the batters pick up an extra run. Conway has done really well after a sluggish start.

11.1SIX! 'Catch it' is the call but this has sailed well over the tallest man on the field - Blessing Muzarabani. Flighted ball on the stumps, Devon Conway dances down the track and swings through the line but gets it off the inside half of the bat and over long on or a biggie.

10.6FOUR! Too short and on leg stump, Daryl Mitchell just gets inside the line and hooks it away between fine leg and deep square leg for a boundary. NZ are now just 33 runs away with 9 overs left.

10.5Short ball, angled in at the ribs, Conway stays compact and angles the pull firmly down to deep backward square leg for a single.

10.4Back of a length and well outside off, Mitchell reaches out and hits it away between point and covers for one more.

10.3Hard length over the stumps, pulled away through the mid-wicket region for a single.

10.2SIX! Such a lovely pick-up from Conway! Full and on off, angling in, Devon Conway stays put and picks it up without much of a flourish and deposits it well over the boundary in front of deep mid-wicket for a biggie.

10.1Shortish length and outside off, Devon Conway taps it to the right of backward point and sets off for the single. Conway is late to react and gives up on the run but the fielder Tony Munyonga fires in a wide throw at the keeper's end. Could have easily taken a second or two to make sure it was a direct hit but Conway survives.

Richard Ngarava (2-0-11-0) is brought back into the attack.

9.6A drag down around leg stump, Daryl Mitchell hangs back and just pulls it harmlessly down to long leg for a single. That should have been put away.

9.5A fraction fuller and on middle, Mitchell miscues it back to the bowler.

9.4A bit more flighted on middle and leg, Mitchell advances and works it away in front of square leg for a couple of quick runs.

9.3Fuller in length, reverse-swept again by Mitchell but straight to short third this time.

9.2Flatter one, darted in towards middle and off, punched off the back foot and straight down the ground for one more.

9.1Dragged length on the stumps, Mitchell brings out the reverse sweep and just dabs it across to the right of short third for a single.

8.6FOUR! Too wide and too easy for the batter! Banged in a bit short but angled well across off, Devon Conway stays on the back foot and throws his hands at the width on offer, slashing it away well wide of deep third for a boundary.

8.5Good length again and outside off, Mitchell leans on and punches it to covers before scmpering through for a single.

8.4Play and a miss! Good length, wide of the off stump, Daryl Mitchell looks to reach out and drive but the ball shapes away past the outside edge.

Daryl Mitchell is in next, replacing Rachin Ravindra.

8.3OUT! CAUGHT! That is a big effort from a big man and Zimbabwe get their second breakthrough. Tinotenda Maposa continues with the short stuff and bangs it in outside off. Ravindra tries to get up on his toes and ramp it away but doesn't get all of it. Blessing Muzarabani at deep third is a bit late to pick the ball but he does put in a big dive in front and manages to hang on with both hands. Rachin departs for a fluid 30 off 19 balls and NZ are 64/2 after 8.3 overs.

8.2Back of a length and outside off, Ravindra stays upright and smacks it away well in front of square on the off side for a couple of runs.

8.1Another top edge that falls safe and it seems like Devon Conway is not just struggling with timing but with fitness as well. Banged in well short and over middle, Conway is rushed on the pull and gets a top edge that lands short of the incoming fine leg fielder and the batters get a single.

A break in play and it seems like the two Kiwi batters are rehydrating themselves. However, it might be a case of one of the batters feeling a bit of fatigue.

7.6On a length and well outside off, turning away a touch, Conway reaches out and taps it through the point region for another single. New Zealand are cruising now after a treacherous start.

7.5Short ball around off, Rachin Ravindra rocks back and drags the pull down to long on for another single.

7.4On the shorter side, played off the back foot and through covers for a single this time. The 50-run stand is now up between these two.

7.3Two more! Fuller and wider this time, Conway backs away and slaps it well in front of deep cover for a couple of runs more.

7.2The call is for two and they get it with ease. Flatter one outside off, tapped away wide of long off for a brace by Conway.

7.1Starts around the wicket and slows it up, bowling it wide of the off stump. Devon Conway shapes up to get inside the line and sweep but adjusts and just dabs it to short third.

Sikandar Raza brings himself into the attack now.

6.6Hard length outside off, Conway gives the charge and forces it through the cover region for just a run.

6.5Excellent running! Good length in the channel, angling away, Devon Conway is beaten while playing the cover drive and the keeper lets it through the gloves as well. The batters pick up a bye down to deep third but the keeper doesn't get back to the stumps and they pinch an extra run.

6.4Short ball and outside off, Ravindra presses up and angles the cut down to deep backward point for one more.

6.3Length again, on the pads, tucked away in front of square leg for a single and the 50 comes up for New Zealand.

6.2Hard length in the channel, Conway rocks back and opens the bat face before easing it just behind the point region for a couple of runs.

6.1FOUR! Devon Conway riding his luck! Tinotenda Maposa starts off with a sharp bumper on leg stump and again, Conway gets hurried while looking to pull. He gets a top edge that goes nice and fine over short fine leg for a boundary.

5.6Oh, that could have been trouble for Rachin! Good length around off, Ravindra taps it to covers and looks for the single but Devon Conway sends him back. The throw at the striker's end hits Ravindra's bat and there is half an appeal for obstruction of field from a few Zimbabwe players.

5.5SIX! Oh, that is an eye-catching shot! Fuller in length and pushed well wide of the off stump, Rachin Ravindra reaches out and slashes it away on one knee and over the sweeper cover fence for a biggie.

5.4Takes pace off, bowling it fractionally short and around off, Conway taps it away towards point for a single.

5.3FOUR! That could have gone anywhere but Devon Conway picks up his first boundary. Short ball angled across off, Conway looks to fetch and pull but gets a thick outside edge that flies down to the vacant deep third fece for a boundary.

5.2Good length around off, driven but straight to covers.

5.1Conway is struggling! Hard-length delivery over middle, extra bounce on offer again. Conway tries to get past the off stump and play the lap shot but misses out.

4.6FOUR! That has been pummeled! Too short again and over middle and leg, Rachin Ravindra is waiting for it and pulls it hard and to the left of deep square leg for a hat-trick of boundaries.

4.5FOUR! No luck involved there! Short of a length, dug in over off and middle. Ravindra backs away and swats the pull shot in front of square and through mid-wicket for four more runs.

4.4FOUR! Ah, a bit unlucky for the bowler! A well-directed bumper over leg stump, Rachin Ravindra is hurried by the extra bounce as he looks to pull and gets a top edge that goes fine and flies well over short fine leg for a boundary.

4.3Hard length on off, coming onto the bat nicely and Ravindra just taps it down to cover-point, looking for a single but he doesn't get it.

4.2Fractionally short and angled across off, Rachin looks to give himself a bit of room and go through the off side but ends up jamming it back onto the deck off the under edge.

4.1On a hard length and just over off, Conway pats it down gently in front of mid off and hustles across for a quick run. Good running!

Trevor Gwandu comes into the attack, replacing Richard Ngarava.

3.6Up and over! On the fuller side and angled well across off, Rachin Ravindra throws his hands at it and slices it away over the point region for a couple of runs.

3.5Good stop! Hard length over middle, Ravindra whips it across to the right of short mid-wicket but Ryan Burl over there makes a sharp stop.

3.4Short of a length, angling across off, Ravindra rises up with the bounce and smacks it straight to cover.

3.3Pitched up around off, Conway looks for the lofted drive but skews it away over wide mid off for a single.

3.2A well-directed short ball over off, Conway goes for the pull but the extra bounce means that the ball goes off the top edge and over the square leg region. The batters pick up a couple of runs.

3.1Swing and a miss! Hits the deck hard and bowls it over off and middle, Devon Conway looks to swing through the line but misses.

2.6FOUR! A confident stroke from Rachin Ravindra! Shortish length on middle and off, right around waist height. Rachin picks it up early and pulls it hard and flat in between mid-wicket and mid on for a boundary.

2.5On the shorter side and outside off, slapped away through the point region for a single.

2.4Back of a length and over the stumps, blocked off by Conway.

2.3Beaten again! Conway wanders down the track and Ngarava changes his length by bowling it on the shorter side. Keeps it on off and gets the ball to nibble away. Conway has a poke at it but the ball whizzes past the outside edge and there is a stifled appeal for caught behind as well, but the umpire says now.

2.2Full of a good length and attacking middle, Ravindra tentatively tucks it away to wide mid on and picks up a quick single.

2.1Beaten all ends up! Fuller in length and on off, Ravindra has a hoick across the line but the ball swings away and beats the bat and the off stump.

1.6Thinking about two, and they get it. Hard length again, around middle, Devon Conway nudges it away and gets it through the gap at mid-wicket before scampering through for the second run.

1.5Hard length around leg, tucked away towards mid-wicket.

1.4Blessing is getting the new ball to talk! Just short of a length and on off, this one angles away with some sharp bounce and Conway is taken aback and beaten past the outside edge.

1.3Hard length on middle and leg, tapped across towards wide mid-wicket for a quick single by Ravindra.

1.2Now, that is a JAFFA! Just back of a length and over off, this one again bounces extra and Rachin Ravindra gets pushed back. The ball swings in very late and beats the inside edge. The Zimbabwe players go up in appeal but the bowler doesn't seem much interested and neither does the umpire.

Rachin Ravindra walks in at number 3.

1.1OUT! CAUGHT! Oh, what a catch! Blessing Muzarabani starts with a short and wide one, a bit of a loosener but extracts extra bounce off the deck. Tim Seifert leaps up to smash it away but can't get on top of the bounce and hits it to the right of covers. Tashinga Musekiwa shows great reflexes and dives to his right to snatch it with both hands. Zimbabwe do get the early wicket.

Who will bowl from the other end? It will be Blessing Muzarabani.

0.6Good hustle! Hard length, swinging into the batter, Seifert nudges it down in front of mid on and races through for the single.

0.5PUT DOWN! Blessing Muzarabani should have taken that! Hard-length delivery outside off, shaping away nicely. Devon Conway hangs back to guide it late but ends up easing it straight into the bread basket of short third but Muzarabani fumbles the chance and that is a huge let off. The batters get a single as well.

0.4Back of a length and outside off, Seifert hops up on his toes an cuts it to deep backward point for one more.

0.3A bit of extra bounce there! Short ball around off, Devon Conway gets rushed on the pull and miscues it a bit uppishly through the vacant mid-wicket region for a single.

0.2Dug in shorter now and over middle, Seifert swivels and pulls it through square leg to get off the mark with a single.

0.1Oh, an outside edge straightaway! Back of a length and in channel, Tim Seifert hops back to punch but gets an outside edge that goes down in front of Sikandar Raza at first slip.
