Xiaomi recently launched its flagship Xiaomi 15 series in India and other global markets this year. However, we are almost half a year post the launch of the Xiaomi 16 in China, and new details of its successor have already begun to appear on the web. Earlier rumours suggested that Xiaomi 16 and 16 Pro may debut as the world’s first Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 phones in October of this year, and now a new leak has revealed the Xiaomi 16’s battery and camera details.
Xiaomi 16 expected specifications
A new leak from Weibo tipster Smart Pikachu has revealed the key specifications of the purported Xiaomi 16. The leak reveals that the Xiaomi 16 will come with a 6.3-inch OLED screen equipped with ultra-narrow bezels on all four sides. Moreover, it is tipped to be powered by the upcoming HyperOS 3.0 UI, which is likely to boot Android 16 out of the box.
Further, the tipster adds that the smartphone could feature a 50MP triple camera setup, like the existing Xiaomi 15. It is also claimed to pack the largest battery ever seen on a 6.3-inch display phone, which previous reports suggest could be a 7,000 mAh battery pack. At present, the OnePlus 13T, which has a 6.32-inch display and Snapdragon 8 Elite, packs a huge 6,260mAh battery.
In comparison, the Xiaomi 15, which was launched in China in October last year, features a 5,400mAh battery with support for 90W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging. However, the global variant of the smartphone has a slightly smaller 5,240mAh battery with similar charging capabilities.
