Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not new to breaking security protocols. Be it Independence Day or Republic Day celebrations, PM Modi has often broken the stringent security protocols to connect with people. On Sunday, PM Modi’s desire to connect with people was at display once again when he broke the protocol at a PUSA event and held umbrella for farmers.
Even as the officials requested the PM to cancel the interaction due to heavy downpour, Modi insisted that he would interact with farmers despite bead weather.
pic.twitter.com/MqW7BP4M3a— Narendra Modi (@narendramodi) August 11, 2024
As soon as the PUSA event began, it started raining heavily. When it came to holding umbrellas, PM told security that he would hold his umbrella himself. In fact, he also offered to hold umbrella for farmers as well.
The Prime Minister was interacting with farmers at the launch of 109 climate-resilient, high-yielding varieties of crops. He recalled the iconic phrase "Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan" coined by Lal Bahadur Shastriji and the subsequent addition of "Jai Vigyan" by Atal Bihar Vajpayee.
The PM highlighted how he has added "Jai Anusandhan" to this phrase, giving utmost priority to research and innovation. The release of 109 new crop varieties is a tangible outcome of his focus on Innovation in agriculture, bringing research to life on the ground.
Significant Milestones Expected as Farmers Adopt Natural Farming: PMWhile interacting with the farmers, the PM noted that farmers are conscious of their responsibility towards Mother Earth and are voluntarily transitioning away from pesticides.
This shift towards natural farming is yielding better results for them. The PM also highlighted that significant milestones are on the horizon as farmers are increasingly adopting natural farming. PM suggested solutions to farmer to adopt new varieties.
PM asked farmers whether they are open to use new varieties of seed or wait for others to use it first. PM also suggested to them to use the new variety in a small section or at four corners of their land and use it after satisfactory results of their own experiment.
Triple speed in third termThe PM reiterated his commitment to working at triple the speed in his third term, citing the recent initiatives for farmers as evidence. The PM expressed immense joy in dedicating these new crop varieties to the farmers.
