Nifty 5300 Put adds 9 lakh shares in open interest

Stock Futures added 2.6 crore shares in OI and Nifty 5300 Put added 9 lakh shares in OI.

FIIs were net buyers of Rs 132 crore in Index Futures, which open interest (OI) was up by 7,599 contracts on Monday. They were net buyers of Rs 315 crore in Stock Futures, which OI was up by 14,701 contracts.

Stock Futures added 2.6 crore shares in OI and Nifty 5300 Put added 9 lakh shares in OI.

Fresh longs & cash based buying were seen in Suzlon Energy and ITC. Suzlon went up 3.6%; its open interest was up by 11% and delivery volume jumped at 45.8 lakh shares versus 31 lakh shares.

ITC rose 2.5%; its OI was up by 4% and delivery volume increased at 70 lakh shares versus 61 lakh.

Fresh shorts & speculative selling were seen in Sun TV. The stock tanked 11.4%; its OI was up by 236% and delivery volume went up at 24.1 lakh equity shares (23%) as against 6.5 lakh shares (84%).

Fresh shorts & cash based selling were seen in Central Bank of India, Punj Lloyd and Lanco Infratech. Central Bank of India was down 5.8%; its OI was up by 8.5% and delivery volume increased at 4 lakh shares versus 1.5 lakh.

Punj Lloyd fell 2%; its OI was up by 7% and delivery volume went up at 15 lakh equity shares versus 9.7 lakh. Lanco Infratech slipped 3.7%; its OI was up by 7% and delivery volume jumped at 27.6 lakh equity shares versus 10.4 lakh.
