Quick commerce home services startup Pronto has shifted its headquarters from Gurugram to Bengaluru, in a move aimed at strengthening its product and engineering capabilities as competition in the 10-15-minute home-services market accelerates, the company's founder and CEO Anjali Sardana told Moneycontrol.

The relocation has been completed in recent weeks and involves moving tech, product and data-science teams to Bengaluru, while customer-support and certain operations functions remain in Gurugram. The company is establishing an engineering hub in the city as it prepares for its next phase of growth.

"The move was primarily driven by the need for tech talent. Gurugram was the ideal place for us to start and will always be home in some sense, but as we scale, we needed to access a deeper talent pool," Sardana said.

Why has Pronto chosen Bengaluru and what does it mean for the sector?

Pronto’s shift places it in the middle of India’s largest pool of engineering and consumer-internet talent, at a time when rapid-fulfillment models depend heavily on real-time routing, dispatch and workforce-management systems.

Inc42 was the first to report the development.

Pronto is joining a cluster of startups, including its rivals, that view Bengaluru as essential to scaling tech-heavy operations.

Moneycontrol exclusively reported earlier that rival Snabbit had relocated its headquarters from Mumbai to Bengaluru’s Koramangala as part of its own expansion, underscoring how central the city has become for companies building instant service models. Snabbit followed that shift with a $30-million Series C fundraise, highlighting rising investor interest in the category.

Another rival, Pync, is already based in Bengaluru, adding to the concentration of competition in the city.

Where does the company stand and what is the wider context?

Founded in 2024, Pronto offers rapid-fulfilment home services such as cleaning, cooking assistance and minor repairs. In August, it raised $11 million from General Catalyst, Glade Brook Capital and Bain Capital Ventures to support metro expansion and strengthen its operational layer. The company also moved its corporate domicile from the US to India around the same time, aligning its legal structure with the fact that its customers, teams and operations are fully domestic.

Instant home-services are emerging as a significant new frontier within India’s quick-commerce landscape, driven by high-frequency household tasks and rising demand for predictable, short-turnaround service delivery.

Established players and new entrants are building dense micro-hub networks, vertically integrating worker supply and increasing automation in fulfilment, intensifying competition across major cities.

What’s ahead for Pronto?

With its headquarters now in Bengaluru, Pronto is expected to ramp up hiring across engineering, product, data-science and operations roles as it expands to additional metros over the next year.

Improving utilisation, reducing travel time and maintaining fulfilment reliability will be central to strengthening margins in a low-ticket, high-frequency business.

As more companies consolidate around Bengaluru to scale their tech infrastructure, Pronto’s shift positions it within the ecosystem that is increasingly becoming the operational centre of gravity for the instant home-services market.
