Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal has presented India as a 'lucrative investment opportunity' to the Swiss industry & investors on the first day on his Zurich visit, setting a foundation for deeper economic and strategic collaborations with the European Free Trade Association (EFTA).
Minister Goyal met Director General of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and also interacted with investors on July 15, discussing potential collaborations in various sectors and partnerships to support India’s growth.
Among the potential investors included representatives from global container shipping company MSC Cargo.
A meeting was also held with the Chairman of Zurich Airport, Josef Felder, exploring opportunities to collaborate in enhancing airport infrastructure and ancillary air services in India.
Piyush Goyal also met the Director General of WTO, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, and discussed ongoing negotiations and progress on the 13th Ministerial Conference which underscore India’s commitment to fair trade among member nations.
Minister Piyush Goyal is in Zurich to implement the India-EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA), where he also met with prominent members of the Indian diaspora, encouraging them to invest in India.
