Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) celebrated its first anniversary on March 31 with a year of remarkable achievements, marked by over one million visitors, 700 shows across five world-class venues, and showcasing over 670 artists and four landmark visual art exhibits.
Since its opening in 2023, the NMACC has hosted iconic international acts and exhibits, including the debuts of Broadway and West End in India. The Centre's commitment to preserving India's cultural legacy was evident through initiatives like 'SWADESH by Reliance Foundation', spotlighting diverse art forms from across India.
The Grand Theatre hosted exclusive anniversary programming, featuring performances by Amit Trivedi, Kaushiki Chakraborty, Ajay-Atul, and Aditya Gadhvi.
The Art House opened 'Liminal Gaps', an exhibition showcasing immersive installations from contemporary Indian artists. Curated by Mafalda Millies Kahane and Roya Sachs with executive production by Elizabeth Edelman Sachs of TRIADIC, it is the Centre’s first exhibition to exclusively showcase the works of Indian artists.
Founder & Chairperson Nita Ambani expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support and pledged to continue showcasing the best of India and the world.
Speaking on the occasion, Nita Ambani said, “It is with a deep sense of pride, joy, and gratitude that we celebrate the first anniversary of our Cultural Centre. In the past year at NMACC, over a million audiences have witnessed blockbuster Indian theatricals, breathtaking global performances, stunning artworks, and traditional handicrafts from all over India. We are grateful for the love and support of our audience, and the trust and enthusiasm of our artists. It's been an extraordinary year of firsts, showcasing the best of India and the world. And our journey has only just begun!”
Looking ahead, NMACC is set to host 'Matilda the Musical' by The Royal Shakespeare Company and a performance by Bharatanatyam exponent Padma Shri Shobana and her troupe.
