The Indian benchmark indices snapped three-day losing streak on August 7 and ended higher with Nifty closing near the key 24,300 level, led by buying across the sectors and ahead of RBI policy outcome tomorrow.
At close, the Sensex was up 874.94 points or 1.11 percent at 79,468.01, and the Nifty was up 305 points or 1.27 percent at 24,297.50.

The GIFT Nifty is trading weak, indicating a gap-down start for the day. Nifty futures were trading at 24,181.50 at 07:00 am IST.
Asian Equities (Down)
Asian markets were trading lower on Thursday as Wall Street declined overnight, while investors assessed trade data from Japan and awaited India's rate decision.

US stocks ended lower on Wednesday, with the Nasdaq falling 1% as technology shares declined and weak demand in a 10-year Treasury auction stoked investor jitters in choppy trade.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 234.21 points, or 0.6%, to 38,763.45, the S&P 500 lost 40.53 points, or 0.77%, to 5,199.5 and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 171.05 points, or 1.05%, to 16,195.81.

The US 10-year Treasury yield fell 57 basis points at 3.92 percent and the US 2-year bond yield declined 47 bps at 3.94 percent.
