Expect four Fed rate hikes in 2018: Manishi Raychaudhuri

In an interview Manishi Raychaudhri of BNP Paribas shared his views on the new global economic scenario of surging yields and higher than estimated Fed rate hikes.

Global economics group expects four rate hikes in 2018 and one rate hike in 2019, he said.

We have increased or raised this expectation slightly about a couple of weeks ago in keeping with how the bond markets have been doing and with the inflation outlook, he added.

Even the equity markets would now have to come to terms with the possibility of 4-5 rate hikes in the visible time horizon over the next 15-18 months, said Raychaudhuri.
