At 11.57 hrs IST, the Nifty was hovering around 6050 mark with negative bias. It was a weak session for the markets on back of selling in realty, capital goods, auto and metal stocks. Selective buying was seen in telecom and IT stocks.
The Sensex was down 95.14 points or 0.47% at 20205.96, and the Nifty was down 26.00 points or 0.43% at 6053.80. About 1021 shares advanced, 1543 shares declined, and 643 shares remain unchanged.In the largecap space, HCL Tech, Sun Pharma, Power Grid Corp, Bharti Airtel and Rel Capital were up 1-1.5%. On the losing side, Sterlite Industries, Bajaj Auto, Ambuja Cements, Cipla and ACC were down 2.3-4.5%. Index heavyweight Reliance was trading at Rs 1,076.00 up 0.2% from its previous close of Rs 1,073.90. Tech major Infosys was trading at Rs 3,467.00 down 0.02% from its previous close of Rs 3,467.65. Refinery major HPCL was trading at Rs 390.85 down 0.17% from its previous close of Rs 391.50. Hindustan Lever was trading at Rs 322.05 down 1.11% from its previous close of Rs 325.65. Cigarette major ITC was trading at Rs 178.00 down 1.06% from its previous close of Rs 179.90. Top gainers on the BSE Midcap: Gujarat Flourochem, KGN Industries, IBN18 Broadcast, Marico and Emami were up 3-5%. Top losers on the BSE Midcap: Chambal Fertilisers, Nat Fertilisers, Sunteck Realty, TVS Motor and Rashtriya Chem were down 3-6%. Top gainers on the BSE Smallcap: Binani Industries, INOX Leisure, Mandhana Industries, Visa Steel and Zensar Tech were up 5-10%. Top losers on the BSE Smallcap: Indo Tech Transformers, Oscar Investments, Parekh Aluminex, Spectacle Info and SVC Resources were down 5-6%.
