Mahindra & Mahindra announces ‘e-ZEO’ commercial electric four-wheeler on World EV Day

Coinciding with World EV Day, On September 9, Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited (MLMML), the electric vehicle arm of Mahindra & Mahindra, unveiled the name of its upcoming commercial electric four-wheeler, the ‘e-ZEO.’

According to the company press release, the ‘e-ZEO,’ which stands for "Zero Emission Option," highlights the vehicle's environmental benefits. Designed to challenge the dominance of Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles in the Small Commercial Vehicle (SCV) sector, the ‘e-ZEO’ boasts a high-voltage architecture that delivers enhanced energy efficiency, a longer driving range, and quicker charging times, while also providing a cost-effective solution for businesses, the company added.

Suman Mishra, Managing Director and CEO of Mahindra Last Mile Mobility, commenting on the launch, stated, "Having led the charge in the last mile electric three-wheeler vehicle space, it gives us immense pleasure to reveal the brand name of our four-wheeler, ‘e-ZEO’, on World EV Day. This name resonates deeply with our purpose and aligns with global efforts to accelerate EV adoption, particularly in the sub-two-tonne category. Backed by the Mahindra trust, the ‘e-ZEO’ is poised to reshape urban logistics and drive prosperity for our customers."

The ‘e-ZEO’ is slated for its official launch on October 3, 2024.

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd announced on May 16 that it will invest Rs 12,000 crore into its electric vehicle unit, Mahindra Electric Automobile, over the next three years, up to March 31, 2027.

On August 15, Mahindra & Mahindra reinforced its commitment to electric mobility, with Executive Director and CEO for auto and farm sector Rajesh Jejurikar advocating for a strong focus on EVs as a national priority. “The right direction for the country is EV focus, and we believe that is what the government should support,” Jejurikar stated.
