Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) on August 21 announced that its transportation infrastructure vertical has secured a large order for an integrated infrastructure development project in the Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA) in Maharashtra.
The company said the task of developing extensive infrastructure as part of Town Planning Schemes 2 to 7 has been awarded by the City and Industrial Development Corporation Limited (CIDCO).
Although L&T did not disclose the exact financial value of the order, it is known to be within the range of Rs 2,500-5,000 crore, which is categorised by the company as a large order.
The scope of the project includes the development of roads of 60-metre and 45-metre width, along with the construction of various major and minor structures.
Key components of the project involve:
- Construction of 13.28 km of approach roads, featuring nine major structures, including three iconic steel bridges over the Kalundre river and Mumbai-Pune Expressway.
- Development of 12 minor bridges and 27 underpasses.
- Utility and allied electrical works to support the infrastructure.
