To expand banking services in the North-Eastern states of the country, the government will open more than 100 branches of India Post Payments, said Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
“More than 100 branches of India Post Payments will be set up in the North-East region to expand banking services,” Sitharaman said in her union budget address.
FM Sitharaman added that in this year, a provision of Rs 2.66 lakh crore for rural development including rural infrastructure is made.
