Tata Power on May 14 reported 16.5% jump in consolidated net profit at Rs 1,043 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2025. It reported consolidated net profit of Rs 895 crore in the year-ago period.
The firm's revenue from operations rose 8% to Rs 17,096 crore in Q4FY25 as against Rs 15,847 crore in Q4FY24.
The firm said its board recommended final dividend of Rs 2.25 per share for FY25.
"The dividend recommended by the Board is subject to the approval of the Members at the forthcoming
106th Annual General Meeting ('AGM') of the Company scheduled to be held on Friday, July 4, 2025," said Tata Power in a stock exchange filing.
The EBITDA for the quarter saw a significant jump of 39.2% year-on-year to Rs 3,245.4 crore, indicating improved operational efficiency. Operating margins expanded to 19% from 14.7% in the year-ago period.
Praveer Sinha, CEO and Managing Director, Tata Power, said "FY25 has been a remarkable year for Tata Power, with the company achieving a record-breaking PAT exceeding Rs 5,000 crore, driven by exceptional contributions across all our business segments."
He added that Q4FY25 marks the 22nd consecutive quarter of PAT growth, highlighted by several significant milestones. "For the first time, we surpassed 1 GW in renewable capacity additions within a single year and are now targeting 2 GW in FY26. Our rooftop solar business has performed impressively, reaching over 1.5 lakh installations, with a total installed capacity of 3 GW," Sinha said.
Additionally, the company's 4.3 GW cell and 4.3 GW module manufacturing facility in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu produced 3,291 MW of modules and 846 MW of cells during the year. "Our distribution segment also delivered strong results, with PAT from Odisha Discoms surging 3x in Q4FY25 and 43 % in FY25," he said.
The company said its 1,000 MW Bhivpuri Pumped Hydro Project has secured key approvals, including from the Central Electricity Authority (CEA), and is set to begin construction in the first half of FY26 with commissioning targeted by August 2028.
Work on the 1,800 MW Shirawata pumped storage project is expected to start in later part of the year and will get commissioned in 2030. "Besides, with the starting of work at the 600 MW Khorlochhu Hydro project in Bhutan (part of a broader 5 GW clean energy MoU with Bhutan), the company is advancing the regional energy security," Tata Power said in a statement.
In FY25, Tata Power supplied over 64.7 billion units of electricity to the grid through its diverse portfolio of conventional and renewable generation assets, playing a key role in meeting the country's rising energy demand. Additionally, its discoms supplied approximately 47 billion units of electricity to its consumer base.
On May 14, Tata Power's shares on BSE closed 2.2% higher at Rs 398.05.
