The shares of Newgen Software dropped nearly 6 percent on July 17 after the company reported a 54 sequential drop in net profit in the April-June quarter of the financial year 2026. HDFC AMC shares around 1 percent.

The two companies today released their results for the first quarter of the financial year 2026.

Newgen Software Q1 Results:

Newgen Software reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 49.72 crore for the quarter under review. This marks an on-year rise of nearly 4.5 percent from the Rs 47.57 crore net profit reported in the year-ago period. Sequentially, the net profit however dropped 54 percent from the Rs 108 crore reported in Q4 FY25.

Revenue from operations rose nearly 2 percent on-year to Rs 321 crore, but fell more than 25 percent sequentially from Rs 430 crore reported in the previous quarter.

Newgen Software shares dropped nearly 6 percent to hover around Rs 1,030 apiece in the afternoon. The stock has fallen nearly 8 percent in the past five days, and over 16 percent in the past one month. The stock has tumbled over 35 percent in the past six months.

HDFC AMC Q1 Results:

HDFC Asset Management Company reported a net profit of Rs 748 crore for the first quarter of the financial year 2026. This marks a 24 percent on-year rise from the Rs 604 crore net profit reported in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.

The firm's revenue from operations meanwhile gained around 25 percent on-year to Rs 968 crore during the quarter under review.

HDFC AMC shares sharply gained over 1 percent to trade at around Rs 5,420 apiece, after the results were released. The shares of the company have gained over 4 percent in the past five days, and over 9 percent in the past one month. The stock is so far up over 30 percent in 2025 so far.
