GMR Infrastructure plans to raise up to Rs 2,500 crore through issuance of equity shares, equity linked instruments, debentures or any other securities.

The company will seek shareholders' approval to raise funds in the AGM next month.

The shareholders "will consider raising of funds, up to Rs 2,500 crore in one or more tranches, through issue of equity shares / equity linked instruments, debentures or any other securities as an enabling resolution as per the requirements of applicable laws", the company said in a filing to BSE.

Bengaluru-headquartered GMR is a major player in the infrastructure sector, with world class projects in India and abroad. The GMR group has been developing projects in areas such as airports, energy, transportation and urban infrastructure.
