A group of experienced American professionals has accused Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) of illegal discrimination based on their race and age, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing complaints filed with the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
TCS allegedly fired them and shifted some of their work to lower-paid Indian immigrants on temporary work visas, The Wall Street Journal reported.
At least 22 workers have filed complaints with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission against TCS since late December, the report said. TCS’s clients include dozens of the largest companies in the US.

According to the WSJ report, former TCS employees who filed the complaints are Caucasians, Asian-Americans, and Hispanic Americans. They range in age from their 40s to their 60s and live in more than a dozen US states. According to the complaints, many of them have masters of business administration or other advanced degrees. After viewing the complaints, the WSJ reports the professionals claim that the company’s actions showed preferential treatment towards Indian workers in the US who hold highly sought-after visas.
