Tax Rate

You can not sell your investments in this fund for 3 years from the purchase date. Long term capital gain tax will be applicable when you sell your investments after 3 years. Current tax rate is 12.5%, if your total long term capital gain exceeds 1.25 lakhs in a financial year. Any cess/surcharge is not included. However, you can claim a deduction on your taxable income under section 80c for your investments in this fund. (Current tax deductions are capped at 1.5 lakh per year).
