Remember Labubu? The plush toy dominated 2025 with everyone going gaga over it. Well, going by the traction that Japan's viral bot Mirumi is getting, it seems it is going to become a thing this year.
One look at Mirumi, and you will feel like it is speaking to you or wanting to say something. It is a furry both that has been created keeping sloth bear in mind. It is furry. We love how the toy's head tilts in one direction, and its eyes? They seem to be doing their own talking.
During CES 2025, one of the most powerful tech event in the world, Yukai Engineering, a Japan-based robotics company, introduced Mirumi. Can you take a guess where the inspiration to create Mirumi came from? Well, it's from Yōkai, a diverse class of supernatural entities who are known for their mischievious and playful behavior.

Mirumi is available for preorder on Kickstarter, which will go live on January 21, 2026. "Mirumi is designed to evoke those tender feelings through its subtle and adorable gestures, delighting you and creating moments for others to share in. We are very excited to bring this happiness ambassador to Kickstarter, so people around the world can experience the charm," said Shunsuke Aoki, Yukai Engineering CEO.
You can use this furry little thing as a fashion accessory by clipping it onto your bags and clothes. If you're wondering what makes Mirumi so special, well, it is its ability to interact. From tilting its head, moving it up and down to nodding when you touch or pat it, Mirumi does it all.
In fact, Lora, a Romania-based actor and songwriter called Mirumi its new best friend and her anti-stress medicine. "Mirumi is going where I am going... this is how it is going to be," she added.
Mirumi is available in three colours - pink, beige and grey. They all look cute. After its launch, you will be able to see more of Mirumi on your social media. For those in India, there's no report on whether Mirumi will come to India or not.
