Samantha Ruth Prabhu clearly has a thing for traditional sarees. Recently, she post a few snaps of her where she can be seen looking all gorgeous in a black handwoven Kanjeevaram silk saree. The intricate zari work in silver and champagne hue, and the houndstooth pattern all over the apparel look amazing.

The saree is from Xiti Weaves and it can be easily one of those cherished heirloom pieces. To round off the look in style, the actor paired the saree with a plain black sleeveless blouse. For accessories, she wore statement kundan earrings, bangles and a kanoti or kanchain. Her natural makeup, a small red bindi, shimmery eyes and a natural lip colour accentuated her look, and how!

She kept her hair parted from the middle and let them loose. Her waves looked lovely.

About Kanjeevaram sarees

The Kanjeevaram sarees are known for their timeless appeal and elegance. The best part is that these sarees can be worn by women cutting across all age groups. The Kanjeevaram weave is one of the coveted ones, because it is also durable and looks visually very rich. The weave originates from Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, and typically women like to save these sarees to wear on special occasions like weddings or some religious ceremony.

Pure mulberry silk is used to make the saree and it is the fabric that lends the saree a natural sheen and strength. Typically, the border and the pallu of the saree are often woven separately and then interlocked with the body using a strong korvai technique.
