Founder and Chairperson of Reliance Foundation Nita Ambani was conferred the 'Beauty With a Purpose Humanitarian Award' at the 71st Miss World Finals held at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai on March 9.
The award recognised Nita Ambani's work with Indian women and girl children in the fields of education, healthcare, art and culture, sports, and philanthropy, among others.
While accepting the highest award conferred by the international pageant, Nita Ambani highlighted the importance of empowering women to make the world a better place and reaffirmed her lifelong commitment to the cause.
“This honour is not just a personal achievement, but a testament to the power of compassion and service that binds us…Throughout my journey, I have been guided by the timeless Indian principles of Satyam Shivam Sundaram, representing truth, goodness and beauty,” she said.
Notable past recipients of the prestigious award include the late South African President Nelson Mandela and Ina Perlman, the founder of Operation Hunger.
