  • Dark chocolate (70%+) improves heart health, stress, sleep, and energy.

Seeds are hailed as superfoods for a reason. They may look tiny, but they pack a punch when it comes to nutritional benefits. In his new post on Instagram, Fortis gastroenterologist Dr Shubham Vatsya explained the benefits of five seeds that are highly beneficial for women. From increasing haemoglobin levels to supporting hormonal balance, they can noticeably improve overall health.

Halim seeds (Garden Cress)

For women who suffer from anaemia, Dr Vatsya hailed Halim seeds as the most natural remedy. They are rich in iron, folate, calcium, and essential minerals that noticeably improve haemoglobin, hair strength, bone health, and digestion. It also reduces fatigue by improving energy levels. Just half a spoon of these tiny seeds can work wonders for your health.

Amla

Amla is known to be a rich source of vitamin C. When consumed daily, it creates collagen, makes the skin look firmer, and boosts immunity. Additionally, it helps keep blood sugar spikes in check and protects heart health. Regular consumption strengthens the body’s ability to fight off seasonal infections like colds and flu.

Flax seeds

According to the gastroenterologist, flax seeds contain high amounts of omega-3 fatty acids and lignans. These seeds visibly calm down premenstrual symptoms, mood swings, acne flare-ups and hormonal imbalances in women. They are best consumed in powdered form.

Sesame seeds

Packed with calcium, magnesium, and zinc, they support  healthy bones, relieve abdominal cramps, and improve sleep. They can be lightly roasted or soaked for better absorption in the body. According to Dr Vatsya, adding just 1-2 teaspoons to daily meals can make a huge difference in health.

Pumpkin seeds

They are rich in iron, zinc, magnesium and healthy fats, which are great for better skin, hormones, thyroid and PMS management. They also protect heart health, reduce the risk of chronic diseases, and improve sleep.
