Breakfast is considered the most important meal of the day, as it gives energy to kickstart the day, boosts metabolism, improves mood, and helps you stay active. However, most people have busy mornings with hardly any time to cook. Dr Rupy Aujla, a London-based doctor, suggested an easy overnight oats recipe that comes to his rescue all the time, in his new post on Instagram.
What’s more? He said it provides 45 grams of protein, 17 grams of fibre, and only takes five minutes to prepare the night before. Surely, good news for those who struggle to whip up something in the morning.

Dr Rupy Aujla shared in the reel some of the exceptional health benefits of the ingredients used in the recipe. Starting with oats, he said they are a good source of carbohydrates, but tend to be high in sugar. Thus, he adds high-protein and high-fibre ingredients like milled flaxseed and shelled hempseed.
Chia seeds are also known to be highly nutritious and add more fibre to the breakfast recipe, while raw cacao is used to enhance prebiotic benefits. Additionally, the doctor opts for unflavoured whey or plant-based protein. He advised his followers to choose one with no emulsifiers, no sweeteners, or no fillers.

He said that it’s important to mix the ingredients well and add milk and water. For more sweetness, you could use maple syrup or raw honey. Protein butter is great for protein and monounsaturated fatty acids, which have been shown to improve cholesterol. Finally, he suggested refrigerating and topping off the mix in the morning with a probiotic yogurt for added gut health benefits.
