Ramadan is the time when Muslims around the world fast from dawn to dusk for about a month. Sehri, the early morning meal, is eaten before the Fajr prayer, and is considered important as it helps fuel the body, maintain energy, and support hydration until sunset.

Dr Amir Khan, an NHS surgeon, shared the recipe of one of his favourite breakfast smoothies packed with protein and fibre. This classic smoothie, he said, is going to keep you full during long fasting hours and is perfect for Sehri.

“Whether it’s a breakfast smoothie that’s going to keep you full until lunchtime or one that’ll help you keep going through the upcoming Ramadan fasts - this is my go-to,” he wrote in his recent post.
