A woman goes through a lot of hormonal changes and other shifts after delivering a child. One of the major concerns of most women is losing postpartum weight gain. A dermatologist recently shared what helped her lose 15 kilos after she had her baby via C-section.
She posted a video on Instagram where she shared how drinking black coffee helped her in so many ways. She said, "Shifting from chai to black coffee was a habit that helped me lose 15 kg post a C-section. It's great for skin, amazing for heart health, and promotes longevity."
In her caption, she listed the benefits of drinking black coffee.
She wrote, "Rich in polyphenols (chlorogenic acid) that reduce oxidative stress and protect collagen from breakdown hence less wrinkles." It is true that black coffee helps reduce puffy eyes and damage caused from UV rays, however, the key is to consume it in moderation.
Moderate coffee intake is associated with reduced risk of cardiovascular disease and stroke, she wrote. Research has also suggested that when consumed in moderation, coffee can help lower the risk of cardiovascular disease.
"Improves metabolic efficiency, mimicking mild caloric restriction effects. Regular consumption is linked to lower all cause mortality in large cohort studies," she wrote. Since the compounds in coffee help fight oxidative stress and cellular damage, the key drivers of ageing, hence, drinking this beverage can improve longevity.
