"Brain activity is not just about doing long hours of mediation and complex exercise," says Dr Kaushik Jaiswal, a Delhi-based Consultant Neurologist and Cognitive Wellness Specialist. Over time, even short activities that are religiously performed every day can help increase brain function.
The brain feeds on novelty, challenge and routine. Brief mental challenges lasting only one minute can help stimulate neural pathways, improve memory and attention, and even promote more efficient problem-solving.
