  • Satish Ray's witty interview with Kartik, Ananya, and Bhumi goes viral again
  • Ray jokes about Akshay Kumar and paparazzi culture, amusing the actors
  • Clip praised for playful satire on Bollywood celebrity image management

Satish Ray’s old interview with Kartik Aaryan, Ananya Panday and Bhumi Pednekar has resurfaced online and is once again doing the rounds on social media, largely because of Ray’s razor-sharp humour and deadpan delivery that left the actors visibly amused and slightly caught off guard.

The clip, originally part of a promotional interview, opens with Satish Ray setting the tone even before the conversation officially begins.

Addressing Kartik Aaryan, Ray casually says, “Okay, before we proceed with the interview, let me tell you one thing. Kartik, I’m a big fan of Akshay Kumar.” He then adds another layer to the joke by instructing Kartik to say hi to Akshay Kumar wherever he meets him. Turning to Bhumi Pednekar, Ray quips that it is now her “duty” to personally tell Akshay Kumar that he is a fan. The unexpected setup immediately breaks the usual PR-polished rhythm of celebrity interviews.

However, the moment that truly grabbed attention comes when Ray shifts focus to Ananya Panday and her growing popularity. In a straight-faced tone, he points out how photographers seem to follow her everywhere.

“Wherever you go, you go to the gym, photographers come up to you and ask for a photo. You go to a restaurant, you go to the airport, people are ready to take a photo there,” he says, before delivering the punchline. “So tell me, how long before do you call them?”

Ananya, maintaining her composure, replies firmly, “I never call them. I never call them.” When Ray pushes further, asking if she messages them instead, Ananya responds, “No, I don’t. I work through WhatsApp.” That response sets Ray up for the final joke of the exchange. Without missing a beat, he says, “So, I’m also a photographer. Write down my number. Thank you,” prompting laughter and a polite “Thank you” from Ananya.

The clip has struck a chord online because it lightly pokes fun at long-standing Bollywood conversations around paparazzi culture, celebrity visibility and image management, without turning mean-spirited. Satish Ray’s approach, blending satire with conversational ease, has been widely praised for cutting through rehearsed answers while still keeping the atmosphere playful.

Kartik, Ananya and Bhumi were seen in Pati Patni Aur Woh which released in 2019.
