When Rajinikanth predicted Malavika Mohanan would be "a big star in the future"

Malavika Mohanan is gearing up for the release of her highly anticipated and most-awaited pan-India film, The Rajasaab, alongside Prabhas.

The actress has delivered some powerful roles and has become one of the beloved actresses. However, it was superstar Rajinikanth who first recognised her potential.

Malavika recently took to her X (formerly Twitter) and shared the impact that Rajinikanth had on her during her early days of her career.

She wrote, “He was the first person who ever clapped for me right after the my 'father's death scene' in the film. He was the first one to tell me you'll will go on to be a big star in the future.”

The actress continued, “He was the only one at that point to give words of encouragement constantly to a nervous new girl in a new industry pursuing big dreams. I love you so much. You are truly truly one of a kind and this film will always be closest to my heart.”

Malavika shared the screenspace with Rajinikanth in 2019’s action drama, Petta. The film was a blockbuster hit, grossing around Rs 250 crore worldwide against a budget of Rs 160 crore.

Petta revolves around hostel warden Kaali who goes against local goons to save his best friend's son Anwar. However, everything goes haywire when he is forced to face his past.

Meanwhile, Malvika has an exciting lineup for the future. Besides The Rajasaab, she is also gearing up for Malayalam film, Hridayapoorvam, which will also star Mohanlal in the lead role.
