After Akanksha Chamola’s cryptic post today triggered fresh speculation around her married life with Bigg Boss 19 winner Gaurav Khanna, an older moment from the show has started circulating again, especially her brutally honest comments about motherhood and the pressure women face around it.

This throwback goes back to the second day of Bigg Boss 19’s Family Week, when the house softened for a bit and gave viewers one of the season’s most personal conversations. Akanksha entered the house to reunite with Gaurav, and their meeting quickly became one of the most talked-about moments from Family Week.

During a chat with Malti Chahar and Praneet More, Akanksha addressed the question she keeps getting asked: kids. What stood out was not just her answer, but the clarity with which she owned it. She admitted that even thinking about the future feels difficult, and that the desire to become a parent simply is not coming from within.

“Future me bhi mujhe difficult lag raha hai. Mujhe nahi aa raha hai andar se, I don’t feel the need to have a kid. Mere bohot saare reasons hain aur mujhe lagta hai jab aap itne saare reasons dhundte ho, then you are not ready,” she said.

Akanksha also pushed back against the idea that not wanting a child equals fear. In the same conversation, she underlined the responsibility that comes with parenthood and why she refuses to treat it casually.

“I am not scared of it. Baccha paida karna halwa banana nahi hota hai. Bohot badi responsibility hai. Mujhe nahi lagta hai main wo job ko utne ache se justify kar sakti hoon - at this age, at any age. Mujhe apna career banana hai, mere ambitions hain bohot saare, ab log usko selfish bole,” she said.

The moment became even more striking when Gaurav joined the conversation later. Instead of doing the usual TV husband script, he chose something rarer: he backed her publicly. He dismissed the “selfish” label and made it clear he was not in the business of forcing a life decision on his partner.

Around the same stretch of episodes, Gaurav had also asked visiting celebrity astrologer Jai Madaan a question that instantly became a headline: “Do I have kids, me and my wife? I have not planned kids yet. Do I have it in future?” Jai Madaan responded by saying Akanksha was “seriously considering it,” which was later debated widely online given Akanksha’s own words.

Outside the show, this topic has followed them for months. Multiple reports through 2025 noted that Gaurav has expressed he would like to become a father, while also maintaining that he will not move forward unless Akanksha genuinely wants it too.

For context, Gaurav Khanna and Akanksha Chamola married on November 24, 2016, in Gaurav’s hometown of Kanpur, and have been together for nearly a decade.
