After a successful theatrical run that garnered critical praise, Vijay Sethupathi's landmark 50th film, "Maharaja," directed by Nithilan Swaminathan, is all set for its digital release on Netflix.
The film hits the streaming platform on July 12, making it available to a wider audience in multiple languages. Maharaja will be available in five languages on the OTT platform including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada.
The film's plot follows the story of a fuming barber who becomes fixated on retrieving his stolen "Lakshmi" after his home is burglarized. This cryptic clue leaves the police baffled - is it a person or a prized possession? Determined, the barber embarks on a relentless pursuit to reclaim his lost treasure.
Vijay Sethupathi's "Maharaja" crossed the ₹100 crore mark at the global box office, providing a significant boost to the Tamil film industry which had experienced a commercially challenging first half of 2024.
The ensemble cast in the film has Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role, alongside Anurag Kashyap, Natty, Abhirami, Bharathiraja, Munishkanth, and Manikandan.
