  • His portrayal in Vasudha reflects his growth and deeper approach to scripts

Abhishek Sharrma’s journey as an actor has been marked by steady growth and an evolving sense of depth, something viewers have strongly felt in his character Dev in the hit show Vasudha.

Known for his grounded screen presence, Abhishek believes his performances today are shaped by patience, awareness, and emotional honesty.

Reflecting on his earlier work, in an exclusive conversation with Moneycontrol, the actor admits that while the hunger was always there, it has only grown stronger with time. “When I look back, I realise my sincerity and hunger as an actor have increased,” he says, adding that calmness has now become central to his process.

“There’s a certain quiet that has slowly entered the way I approach a scene, whether I’m performing or simply reading a script.”

Abhishek also points out that his understanding of scripts has changed significantly over the years. “I read a script several times to truly understand its core,” he explains. “When you revisit it again and again, you begin to see layers and possibilities within a scene that you might miss initially.”

This shift is clearly visible in Vasudha, especially through his portrayal of Devansh.

According to Abhishek, his acting today relies more on instinct than performance. “My approach has become more internal,” he shares. “I’ve learned to trust silence, subtext, and stillness just as much as dialogue.” He adds that the show has made him more conscious of emotional continuity. “I now focus on how a character thinks and evolves, even when the camera isn’t on him.”

Looking ahead, Abhishek is clear about the kind of roles he wants to explore.

“I’m drawn to layered, emotionally complex characters—people who are flawed and human,” he says. “Whether it’s intense drama, romance, action, or a grounded thriller, he hopes to take on roles that challenge him personally and “leave something meaningful with the audience even after the screen fades to black.”

Vasudha premiered on 16 September 2024 on Zee TV and is produced by Arvind Babbal.  It also stars Priya Thakur, Abhishek Sharma, Parineeta Borthakur and Sachin Parikh.
