Shrutika Arjun, recognised for her humorous approach and candid nature, recently made a surprising announcement on The 50. The actress openly discussed her journey in film and the issue of nepotism in the industry.

She disclosed that, although coming from a cinematic background, she was unable to establish her position in the film sector. Initially, this discussion was somewhat humorous, but over time, it turned into a significant revelation.

She discussed her film experience and mentioned, "My grandfather made 965 films in Tamil, but I wasted nepotism, I looked unappealing, and my 4 films failed.”

Her remark attracted people's notice since nepotism is frequently talked about in the industry. She embraced her failures with humour and sincerity, demonstrating that a family name alone doesn't ensure fame.

A humorous moment occurred in the discussion when Karan Patel remarked, “You are an attractive woman as long as you remain silent.” In her swift reply, Shrutika stated, “Arjun also says this.” When Karan inquired, "Who is Arjun?" She chuckled and answered, “Mera dharam pati.” (My husband).

Karan then said, “Agar tu wahaan hai toh meri baat sun aur apni galti theek kar.” (If you belong to that industry and stature, introspect your mistakes and improvise on them). Nonetheless, Shrutika concluded the dialogue with humour, remarking, “You are quite annoying, but it’s fun.”

Shrutika shared insights about her background during a podcast hosted by comedian Bharti Singh, along with Haarsh Limbachiyaa.

She mentioned that at the age of 16, she starred as the lead in four movies, but each of them failed. She additionally disclosed that her grandfather, Thengai Srinivasan, was a renowned comedian in the Tamil film industry who appeared in over 900 movies.

She expressed, "At 16, I had completed 4 films as a leading lady, yet all were failures. My grandfather was a renowned comedian in the Tamil film industry. He is referred to as Thengai Srinivasan. He has appeared in over 900 films, gained immense fame, and collaborated with all major South stars. However, he died when I was just a month old; he experienced a brain haemorrhage. I was seen at a restaurant at 16, and I received my first acting opportunity.”
