Actor Rohan Gandotra has recently provided fans with an unexpected glimpse into a rarely-seen aspect of Dubai amid the ongoing tension in the Middle East.

He took to his Instagram Story and shared a picture of his laptop with the caption, “Work from home. A quiet and scary Sunday,” adding his location as Dubai. In the pic, the city, which is well-known for its fast-paced way of life, congested streets, and constantly bustling business sectors, seemed remarkably motionless in the images he posted from the area surrounding his home.

Rohan highlighted the current state of affairs by disclosing that normally busy roadways were nearly deserted and that local offices had either temporarily closed or switched to remote work. Residents of Dubai are wary and more likely to stay indoors due to the abrupt silence, which contrasts sharply with the city's normally lively daily routine.

This change in mood coincides with escalating tensions in the larger Middle East, where heightened security worries and safety precautions have begun to affect day-to-day activities.

There is a noticeable air of awareness across the city, even if Dubai is still safe and operational. Companies are changing swiftly, with many choosing work-from-home arrangements to guarantee security without interfering with daily operations.

However, several Indians and celebrities have been stuck in Dubai. Nargis Fakhri, Esha Gupta and Sonal Chauhan are also among thousands of travellers whose return to India has been disrupted following the cancellation of over 700 flights. Honey Singh is also in the city and recently shared an update, assuring fans that he is safe and continues his work in the recording studio.

The tension between Israel and Iran has recently escalated after the United States and Israel launched joint military strikes on Iran on February 28, 2026. The attack triggered Iranian missile attacks on US bases across the Middle East and Israel. The attack has led to the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
