Falaq Nazz slams Shilpa Shinde

For almost ten years, the character of Angoori Bhabhi was a matter of dispute and later became a source of consistency. When Shilpa Shinde left Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain in 2016 after a public dispute with the producers, the show's future appeared questionable. Here comes Shubhangi Atre, who embraced the iconic role and dedicated years to making it uniquely hers, preserving the legacy for a devoted audience.

With Shilpa Shinde back for Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain 2.0, what ought to have been a victorious return has become a whirlwind of industry controversy.

The discord started in a recent interview with IANS. When questioned regarding the unavoidable comparisons with Shubhangi Atre’s performance, Shilpa allegedly stated, “Mujhe isme koi comparison nahi dikhti” (I don’t see any comparison here).

Though Shilpa might have intended to suggest that her perspective is distinctive, numerous individuals—including those within her profession—interpreted it differently: as a sign of disrespect toward the woman who had supported the show for the past nine years. This comment swiftly turned into a subject of conversation on social media, as numerous celebrities conveyed their discontent.

The criticism extended beyond just fan remarks. Notable television figures have come forward to support Shubhangi's commitment. After actor Sourabh Raj Jain expressed his disapproval, Falaq Naazz from Bigg Boss OTT turned to social media to share her dissatisfaction.

"You exited the show with a 'Tata, bye-bye,'" Falaq noted, reminding Shilpa that the character not only endured in her absence but flourished due to another's efforts. In an Instagram story, Falaq proposed that the situation required grace rather than dismissiveness. She remarked that if she were in Shilpa's position, she would have appreciated the actress who made the character significant and "gave it back without any fuss."

This dispute has placed supporters in a challenging situation. On one side, there is an unmistakable longing for Shilpa’s original "Angoori." Conversely, there exists a profound admiration for Shubhangi, who represented the show for almost ten years.

Substituting the actress who remained loyal with the actress who previously departed has ignited a discussion on loyalty versus celebrity influence. Shilpa’s latest remarks have intensified the situation, rendering her "2.0" journey one of the most examined comebacks in Indian television history.
