Shilpa Shinde is back with her iconic Bhabhi ji role

Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai has been making quite some headlines around Shubhangi Atre quitting the show and Shilpa Shinde coming back to the serial in the role of Angoori Bhabhi.

In a recent interview, Shilpa Shinde, who is returning to Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai, discussed Shubhangi Atre’s depiction of Angoori Bhabhi. Her comments seemed to indirectly poke fun at Shubhangi's sense of timing in comedy.

In a conversation with TellyChakkar, Shilpa stated, "Not everyone can do comedy." The comment was a suggestion about Shubhangi's performance. After this, actor Pankit Thakker, who has a strong relationship with Shubhangi Atre, has now responded to the situation.

Sharing his views, Pankit stated, “Competition is for those who are still seeking their path. In this field, anyone can achieve a ‘hit’ briefly, but only a handful can become a ‘legend’ for a decade. I don’t equate legends with views. Once you're able to maintain this operation for the next ten years, we can discuss competition over tea in 2035."

He also mentioned, “No one truly understands the real cause of the shift in the show. The producers might have wanted her to stay, but she didn’t want to commit another 10 years to the same part. She may have wanted to discover experiences outside of portraying the same role. This might be the explanation or the unspoken aspect of the narrative; however, I’m uncertain, and this is merely my own estimation."

Discussing his admiration for Shubhangi, Pankit remarked, “I have known Shubhangi for quite some time, and she consistently shows kindness to all. She never finds pleasure in humiliating anyone. She possesses beauty both internally and externally."

Pankit Thakker is presently featured in a significant role in the TV series Saru.

Following close to ten years, Shilpa Shinde resumes her role as Angoori Bhabhi on the well-known sitcom Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain. Shubhangi Atre took on the role after Shilpa left the show in 2016.

For the unversed, Shilpa's depiction of Angoori Bhabhi turned her into a household favourite, yet her abrupt departure in March 2016 ignited significant controversy. At that time, the actress alleged that the producers inflicted "mental torture," asserting that she was coerced into signing an exclusivity agreement and barred from participating in other projects. She claimed there were outstanding payments and unequal treatment on set.

The scenario intensified when the production company sent a legal notice to Shilpa, claiming she violated the contract and acted unprofessionally. With Shilpa allegedly making a comeback after almost a decade and Shubhangi leaving, the show is poised for a significant transformation—one that fans are monitoring intently.
