Timothée Chalamet is having a moment that few actors ever experience — and he’s reached it faster than anyone before him.

At this year’s Academy Awards, the 30-year-old star made history by becoming the youngest man to receive three acting Oscar nominations, a milestone that feels both astonishing and perfectly on brand for his quietly trailblazing career.

At 30 years and 26 days old, Timothée Chalamet earned a Best Actor nomination for his performance as table tennis prodigy Marty Mauser in the sports dramedy Marty Supreme.

The role, which balances vulnerability, obsession and charm, has been widely praised as one of his most layered performances to date.

This nomination adds to his earlier Oscar nods for Call Me by Your Name and A Complete Unknown, marking a rare run of recognition at such a young age.

What makes this year even more special is that Timothée Chalamet’s success isn’t limited to acting alone. He also received a Best Picture nomination as a producer on Marty Supreme, alongside Eli Bush, Ronald Bronstein, Josh Safdie and Anthony Katagas.

With this, he broke a 58-year-old record previously held by Warren Beatty, becoming the youngest person ever to be nominated for both Best Actor and Best Picture for the same film in the same year.

For longtime fans, this moment feels like the natural result of a journey that began early. Timothée Chalamet first stunned the industry at just 22 when he became the third-youngest Best Actor nominee for Call Me by Your Name.

His later work in A Complete Unknown only deepened his reputation as an actor willing to take risks and chase complexity over comfort.

This year’s Best Actor category is stacked, placing Timothée Chalamet alongside heavyweights such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Ethan Hawke, Michael B. Jordan and Wagner Moura.

Marty Supreme itself has emerged as a major awards contender, also earning nominations for Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay.

The momentum has been building all season. On January 11, Timothée Chalamet won the Golden Globe for Best Actor (Comedy or Musical) for Marty Supreme, becoming the youngest winner in that category.

Last year, he also made history by winning Best Actor at The Actor Awards (formerly the SAG Awards) for A Complete Unknown.
