With its high stakes drama, strategic gameplay, and all-star cast, The Traitors has swept India.
Some contestants' actions and words, especially those of influencer Apoorva Mukhija, have been major talking points.
Actor and fellow competitor Sudhanshu Pandey opened up to Zoom about his feelings about the show's interactional tone. He voiced concerns about Apoorva's use of profanity, which was notably uncensored by the show's creators, while talking about the dynamics behind the scenes. The audience's responses to the unfiltered content have been conflicting.
Sudhanshu reflected on the double standards in the way some contestants communicate. He remarked, “It was how they speak about the same person on the face and behind their back. This is the new generation, and they are at a big loss because there is no sense of a concept of culture that you belong to."
Despite his criticism, the actor made it clear that his intention wasn’t to attack Apoorva personally. In fact, he described her as kind-hearted but misguided when it comes to language. He explained, “Apoorva is a very good kid, she has got a kind heart, but these kids don’t understand ki agar aapki zubaan kharab hai toh aapki saari acchaiyaan saari doob jaati hai (If your language is bad, all your goodness gets overshadowed). Then you would not even want to know whether your heart is good or not."

Sudhanshu's comments seem to point to a widening generational cultural divide in terms of communication and public behaviour. His remarks imply that, even though people value authenticity, some decorum is still required, particularly when appearing on national television.
Even though Apoorva's actions may have caused some disagreement, talk about The Traitors is still spreading. The show is proving to be more than just entertainment with its compelling plot twists and unvarnished human drama; it's igniting discussions about generational shifts, values, and the cost of being real in the public eye.
