Shreya Ghoshal has reacted to Arijit Singh’s surprise retirement announcement, calling it the beginning of a new chapter rather than an ending. Arijit shocked fans on Tuesday evening when he revealed that he is stepping away from playback singing. The singer shared the news first through his private X account and later posted it on Instagram. While he has decided to stop accepting new playback assignments, Arijit clarified that he will continue working as a composer.

The announcement left fans emotional, as Arijit has been one of the most loved voices in Indian cinema for over a decade. His songs have defined countless films, emotions, and memories. However, fellow singer Shreya Ghoshal chose to look at the decision with optimism and excitement.

Shreya, who has collaborated with Arijit on several memorable songs, shared her thoughts in the comments section of his post. She wrote, “It’s the start of a new phase of @arijitsingh and I am truly excited to hear, listen and experience what this genius churns out.”

Praising his artistic depth, Shreya added that she does not see this moment as the end of an era. “I can never call this the end of an era. An artist of his calibre can never be defined by traditional means or boxed into a set formula. Time to soar higher, my dear Arijit,” she wrote.

Singer and composer Armaan Malik also shared an emotional reaction to the news. He spoke about how an artist’s soul often guides them toward change. Armaan said that while one chapter of Arijit’s career has ended, a new and exciting journey lies ahead.

Sharing a throwback picture with Arijit on X, Armaan wrote a poetic note about trusting life’s flow and thanked Arijit for everything he has contributed to playback singing. The two singers have worked together on several projects over the years.

Earlier, Armaan’s brother Amaal Mallik also reacted, admitting he was shocked by the decision but respected it deeply. He wrote that film music will never be the same without Arijit and expressed gratitude for being part of the same era.

In his retirement note, Arijit thanked listeners for their constant love and support. He described his journey as a wonderful one, marking the end of a powerful chapter and the beginning of a new creative phase.
